Home tuitions have become a big hit in Singapore with their effective approach and better results in academics. Yet there are some questions arising in parents mind that are stopping them from choosing a good home tutor or agency for their child.
Question: I am a father looking for home tuition for my son/ daughter. Where should I approach?
Answer: you can contact any local reputable home tuition agency in the city. The address can be found on internet and applying process is simple and less time consuming. Normally these agencies ask for requirements of student and parents about the tutor and send a list of most suitable tutor too the parents. Parents can contact the tutors and appoint the most suitable one for their child.
Question: can I ask for free demo class from the tutor?
Answer: well it depends on the policy of the home tuition agency whether they allow demo class or not. But yes in most of the cases agencies offer free demo classes and parents are asked to appoint tutor only once both student and his parents are satisfied with the tutor. In some cases agencies ask for little registration fee for providing demo classes.
Question: My son is not comfortable with thick accent of tutor. Can I reject him and ask for another teacher?
Answer: yes, parents have all the right to accept or reject the tutor but tuition agencies ask the parents to judge a tutor on the basis of their teaching ability and tuning with their child. Accent or any other small issues must be sidelined if the tutor is good at his job. Accent does not affect teaching skills especially in technical subjects.

Answer: yes you can pay tutor on the month end. Normally it is a commitment done in the starting of the month from both sides and depends on mutual understanding.
Question: can I ensure be ensured of same teacher for whole year or till the syllabus is complete?
Answer: the tutors registered with the home tuition agencies are free lancers and they choice depends on them whether they want to continue as tutor or not. But in most of cases teachers are available for the entire year and students do not have to feel the problem with replacement of teachers.
